We often hear "Wait...your historic house museum is MODERN!" It IS and it's a 1937 gem! The Greenbelt Museum Historic House is an integral part of the city of Greenbelt. It is special as it isn't about just one person or event, but represents an era, a community and its history. You know, I grew up thinking historic houses were all about dusty parlors and Victorian lace, so when I first stepped into the 1937 Greenbelt Museum, that modern angle really threw me too. It’s a whole different kind of time capsule, an entire planned community from the New Deal era, and the Art Deco lines just feel so purposeful and hopeful. But here’s something I learned the hard way when I tried to 3D print a little Art Deco lamp finial to remember the visit by best 3d printer files because I couldn’t find a decent model of that era anywhere else online.
