"The City" Screening & Walking Tour

August 7, 2018

This past Sunday, August 5, the Greenbelt Museum partnered with the Old Greenbelt Theatre for a special screening of the 1939 documentary "The City." Following the film, many attendees went on a walking tour to visit sites where some of the scenes where filmed.

The special event was one of many anniversary events celebrating Greenbelt’s 80th year. Many thanks to Caitlin McGrath, Director of the Friends of the Old Greenbelt Theatre, and Chris Cherry of the Greenbelt Recreation Department for their help in putting the event together and promoting it. About 125 people attended and it may be an event that we offer on a regular basis, particularly to walking tour groups if there is interest.
