Celebrate Labor Day with the Greenbelt Museum!

We are thrilled about the upcoming Labor Day events here at the Greenbelt Museum this weekend, Aug. 31 - Sep. 3! Come join us at one of our free events:

 

Saturday, Sept. 1

9 am: Take a walking tour of Greenbelt!

Starting at the Historic House, 10 Crescent Road

Noon - 4 pmMeet at the Museum

Historic House, 10 Crescent Road

Take a break from the festivities and beat the heat on the shady grounds of the Museum! Relax, reconnect and reminisce with friends old and new. Share photos, memories and peruse old yearbooks. Light refreshments will be available. The Historic House will also be available for quick tours.

 

Sunday, Sept 2

1 - 5 pm: Historic House Tours, 10 Crescent Road

Take a tour of the Historic House for a peek into life during the New Deal era. Visit our shop to find a unique gift!

 

1 - 4 pm: Retro Town Fair

On the grounds of the Historic House, 10 Crescent Road

The Retro Town Fair is BACK and will take place on the grounds of the Museum house at 10B Crescent. Our Retro Town Fair is much like those the earliest Greenbelters enjoyed starting in 1939. Ribbons will be awarded for the best entries in a number of categories: flowers, vegetables, baked goods, canned goods and needlework/sewing. Entries accepted 10am-11:30am and must be accompanied by a completed submission form. Click here for the form.

Monday, Sept 3

11 am - 2 pm: Historic House Tours, 10 Crescent Road

Ongoing

1st floor, Greenbelt Community Center, 15 Crescent Road

Visit our exhibit "The Knowing Hands That Carve This Stone: The New Deal Art of Lenore Thomas Straus" whose works (Mother & Child, the bas reliefs on the front of the Community Center) can be seen throughout Historic Greenbelt's core.
